Happy 4th of July

Davis was worn out after a long 4th of July weekend. It was a wonderful weekend and most importantly we want to thank all of our service men and women. We have several friends who are currently serving and the sacrifices they make for our country and their families make a huge sacrifice too. We not only thank the service men and women, we thank the spouses and their families who also make a huge sacrifice...Thank you!!!

Davis loved his little flag that Gran gave him.....He loved waving it. Josh and I knew we were fixing to lose an eye.

Special Women

During the month of June two very important women in our life celebrate their birthday. Cathy's birthday is June 27th and my mom, Diane's is June 29th. Without these two very important women in our life we would not be the same people we are. Both of these women are strong willed, hard working, loving women....THANK YOU MIMI and GRAN for all you have done and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Blessed Beyond Measures....

As I look back on my childhood I can't think of a single memory without my 4 best friends. I know some people may have 1 or 2 friends from their childhood, but I have 4 that have been there for me since we were in preschool/elementary school. It is rare these days that you can say you have 4 friends who knew you as a child or pre-adult. I pray that Davis will have friends like mine. I know that I can count on them through thick and thin. We have been through heartaches, teenage years, High School years, loses of loved ones, moves around the world or states away, weddings, births and we will endure so much more together. Many people are shocked that our friendship has lasted through High School let alone College, but when you have TRUE friends like this you can make it through ANYTHING!! To this day we get together at least 2 times a year, more if we can and hang out. It is usually at Christmas and fall, but we have had 2 babies born and a wedding so we have rearranged our events a little bit. The last weekend in June we got together at mom and dad's lake house. It was perfect weather!! Danny and Day flew in from New York, Kacee & Rodney drove down from Chattanooga, TN, Kasi & Hank from Atlanta, and Cheryl from Birmingham. We were determined to get together if you can't tell. We have had a little saying since middle school and I beleive it fits us to a T-

Forget me not, Forget me never, I wish to be your friend FOREVER!!!

The boys enjoying the lake....Hank, Danny, Davis and Josh floating around.

The Boys at the Russell Lands Stables (we are missing Rodney)

Josh and Davis looking at the horses...Davis did not like the horses at all.

My sweet boy and me in down town Alex City

We had to visit a local favorite while everyone was in town. JR's wings and Things...it is nothing to write home about, but it has so many memories.

Dayoung and Danny Oh- the newly weds of the bunch. I can remember the day Dayoung moved to Alex City and started school. We were in kindergarten and I can remember like it was yesterday. Mrs. Thompson said "there is a new girl that just moved here from South Korea...lets make sure we all welcome her kindly". Who would have known that sweet Korean girl would be one of my closest friends. Dayoung has a missionaries heart. She has moved to China, Japan, South Korea, and over the BIG POND (can't say the name online) to spread the wonderful news of our Heavenly Father. I am so proud of the leap of faith she has and the joy she has...we call her spunky Monkey, and if you were around her for a short minute you would completely know why. Danny is a newbie to the group too. In fact, I did not meet Danny until their wedding day. This is rare for our group of friends, but Cheryl, Kasi, and Hank okayed him to Kacee and I and we knew he was in. He is supportive of Day 110% and that is why we love him. He fit right in with the other guys, girls and the boys loved him.

Cheryl is the fun loving one of the bunch. Cheryl and I didn't know each really well until elementary school. We started this "club" so to say. It started off with about 10 girls in "the club" but as you can see only 5 of us STUCK together like glue. Cheryl has such a caring heart and giving heart and the mother hen. The funniest stories include Cheryl and sunscreen....or lack of :)

Kacee & Rodney (along with Davis and Henry). Kacee and I have known each since before preschool. Kacee's mother and my mom grew up together as close friends, and the tradition continues. Kacee and I were in daycare together, kindergarten, and spent many Sundays together at my grandmothers. We spent 2 years in Tuscaloosa together starting our college life... the stories I have with Kacee make me laugh till I cry and the support she has given me through out the years brings tears to my eyes. Rodney is new to the bunch, but he fit right in and you wouldn't know he wasn't part of the clan to begin with.

The Lamberth Family- Kasi, Hank and Henry. Kasi and Hank were High School sweethearts. Kasi and I grew up across the street from each other almost our entire lives, we lived together during the summer and then on into college. Kasi and I knew each other in preschool, were in the same kindergarten class and were inseparable a lot of the time. Kasi and I could write a book of all the things we have done throughout the years. Lots of them are too funny for anyone to believe if we didn't have pictures to prove it. Kasi and I cheered together, played softball together, laughed together and cried together....but most importantly, she is always there.

First Haircut

Davis before his first haircut....his 11 month picture. 1st I can't believe my baby is 11 months old but I also can't believe he is already getting a haircut. Cindy Jones has cut my hair since I moved to Montgomery and she was so kind to offer to cut Davis' hair. After the way he acted, she can appreciate adults actions a little more.

Davis during the haircut....Josh is stronger so he got to hold Davis....but I would have said "ok, that is enough, we are done....I can't stand him crying"

Davis playing after his haircut...

Lake fun!

My parents bought a beautiful place on Lake Martin and boy have we had fun using it. Davis is a little waterbug. He loves the lake, the hose, the pool, and of course bath time. Enjoy a few pictures of what our summer has been like so far.

Davis loves his snuggle time with Gran and Aunt RaeRae.

Davis' friend Henry gets to come visit us at the lake too when they are in town. Henry belongs to one of my closest friends from High School, Kasi Lankford Lamberth. Davis and Henry play so well together. Just like his mother and I did since we were in elemtary school.

Davis doesn't care for his life vest but he loves to sleep on the boat. He takes after his mommy...can sleep anywhere!!

My little waterbug enjoying his swimming pool and the hose :)
