Chattanooga FUN

While in Chattanooga for Kacee's wedding we had a lot of fun visiting with Family and Friends.  As previously posted about Kacee's wedding we had a blast with great friends....but we had to get some family time in as well.  Josh has a lot of family that lives in Tenn.  Uncle Lee lives in Chattanooga with his lovely wife, Barbara and he has two kids, Christopher and Katherine.  Josh's dad and step-mom live in Nashville which is about 1-2 hours away from Chattanooga, and Grandma Betty lives in Murpheesboro only 1 hr away, so we got to fit in A LOT of family time in this quick weekend.  Our weekend started off with a great dinner at a Greek restaurant with uncle Lee.
These are definitely Dickerson Boys....they all favor so much!!!!

Friday we got to fit in the Tennessee Aquarium.  It was fun for us all, in fact we spent 3 hours in there and it was worth every minute!

Following the Aquarium we got to eat another great meal with Uncle Lee and Aunt Barbara.  I did bring the camera that night for some reason but it was great to see them...if only it was more frequent.

Saturday was filled with wedding decorating and celebrating so Davis got to spend some extra time with his Grandpa Terry and Marcia.  They drove down to spend the night and keep Davis during the wedding.  It was a great to see them and Davis loved seeing them as well.  A wonderful surprise that they brought with them was Grandma Betty.  Josh's grandma got to come with them and we all loved it, she is such a special woman.

Sunday was filled with more fun. Sunday we got up early, well Davis did, but we got an early start on the Chattanooga Choo Choo.  Davis loves anything that travels...Planes, Trains,  Trucks, Cars, Buses, ANYTHING!!!  We had fun riding the trolley and looking at all the Trains.

Following the Chattanooga Choo Choo....Grandpa Terry, Marcia and Grandma Betty meet us and we caught the Electric BUS to head downtown.  Davis loved riding the Trolley, Hopping Train Carts and then the BUS, wow this is the best!
 Grandpa and Marcia

Davis was so worn out, he caught a catnap on the bus!

Headed to get Ice cream at our Favorite Ice cream Place in Chattanooga....Clumpies!

To finish up our fun trip we went down to the Splash Pad at Coolidge Park. Davis loved it and Josh and I had a blast watching our little man laugh and love life!

Every family trip is so much fun...We love to visit Chattanooga, it has so much family fun things to do and we enjoyed them all.  We look forward to our next trip to Chattanooga. We are so blessed and love every minute we have together!  I hope everyone is enjoying their summer as much as we are in the Dickerson household! :)

Oh Baby/ Mr. & Mrs. Brown

May and June have been fun-filled with celebrating with two childhood best friends.  First off was a baby shower for Dayoung and then switching gears to celebrate Kacee getting married.  We had a baby shower and bachelorette shower in one weekend (Memorial Day weekend)  and the following weekend Kacee got married to a good man...Rodney Brown.  Little did Rodney realize that when he married Kacee, he got all of us as his sister-in-laws!!

A little about Dayoung:  Dayoung and Danny Oh  are expecting their beautiful little girl in about 4 weeks.  She is the first to have a girl in our little crew of friend.  Kasi and I have little boys and I am sure Baby Oh will be keeping our boys in line. During the month of August or September us girls plan to make a trip to New York, where Danny and Day are stationed, to love on Day and Baby Oh.  We are so excited to make the trip.  NY won't know what hit when 4 Sassy Southern Girls come to down :)  Below are some pictures of Day's baby shower!

It has been a great year for all of my closest friends.  Cheryl moved to Bham and passed her CPA exams, Kacee has gotten engaged and married, Day and Danny are expecting their 1st child and we have gotten together more this year than we have in the past couple of years.  We always make it a point to get together atleast 1-2 times a year, but this year has been atleast 4-5 times.  It has been wonderful!!!!

Kacee got married the following weekend and we got to hang out again. Kacee and Rodney got married in their backyard.  It was a beautiful wedding and one of the sweetest weddings I've been to in a while.  Seeing Kacee so happy just made my heart filled with such joy....Kacee and I have been best friends since pre-school.  Her mom (Mrs. Sandra) and my mom were childhood friends growing up too....so our pathes started passing long before we were thought of, amazing how God has your plan laid out before you even know it.   Ok, back to Kacee's wedding.  She and Rodney have remodeled their home that they will live in and their ceremony took place in their backyard.  She used wild flowers and nature as her decorations and it all come together so nicely.   Below are a few pictures of her wedding.  I was honored that she asked me to do her hair and make-up...which if you know Kacee, she is naturally beautiful so her make-up and hair were already done before I started, I just added a little extra.  Below are pictures of Kacee's Wedding!!

Kacee and her mom (Mrs. Sandra)...she looked beautiful and so happy!!

They drove away on Rodney's bike that he cleaned atleast 2-3 times Sat. while we were decorating...Great Job on the cleaning...it sure did shine! :)

Houston- Spring Break '12

Over Spring Break Josh, Davis and I drove out to see some wonderful friends and family who live in Houston, TX.  Josh's childhood best friend Jad Hixon, and his sweet fiancee Elspeth have lived in Houston for several years.  (Jad and Elspeth are getting married in April, in Memphis.  We are so excited to be there....stay tuned for pics of that trip)  We have told them several years we wanted to visit so we did.  Also, my wonderful cousin Craig, and his fun and sweet wife Jill have been out there for a year, so it gave us double the reason to go :)  It took us 11 hours to drive out.  We stopped several times but one stop was in Lafayette, LA where they had an amazing nature walk.
Davis loved running and just looking for ducks.  Our boy LOVES ducks!!
When we finally got there we got to play at a couple of parks for Davis' sake, went to an amazing Art Festival, ate some GOOD food, grilled out, visited the Zoo and Aquarium, laughed alot, shopped, and just enjoyed some special time with family and friends.

The Boys ready for the Zoo!  Josh, Jad (Josh's childhood best friend) and Davis.  Lathered up with sunscreen and we are ready to go.

Wordless Wonder:  He was so amazed by the birds flying.

Hey Ducks.....Davis loved the ducks at the Zoo.

Davis did NOT like the Monkeys, which, I can't blame him after seeing that big thing scratching and eating and just walking around.....

Craig grilled for us and boy oh boy it was amazing. He grilled enough for an army.....like Father like Son (he would have made his dad so proud)

Craig and Jill had a neat little park down the hill from their apartment.  Davis loved playing on the slide and most importantly the puppies that walked by..."Hey Puppy, Hey Puppy!!"

The aquarium in Houston was great. Davis was not to excited about the BIG fish, but he loved the BIG kitty!!

Davis loved helping Jill with the laundry...
especially putting it on my head :)

Craig and Davis walking to the car ready for some GOOD Mexican food.

It's HOT mommy!!

While in Houston we bought Davis a wooden truck at an Art Festival.  Along with the truck Jill bought Davis an elephant from a cool little shop in downtown.  It's name is Al and is made from recycled cashmere.
